Player Spotlight

Brittany Basinger, who recently committed to play Div I soccer at Penn State University, has been selected to the U.S. Under-17 Women’s National Team for the domestic training camp in Sunrise, FL. This event will consist of 24 players who will participate in both training sessions and matches throughout the week of February 3-11, 2012, including two international games with Germany. This training camp will play an important role in the evaluation of players as this age group continues to progress and prepare for CONCACAF Under-17 Women’s World Cup Qualifying tournament in Guatemala City from May 2-13. The finalists and third-place match winner will qualify for the 2012 FIFA Under-17 Women’s World Cup

 Head coach Albertin Montoya will work under the guidance of U.S. Soccer Director of Development Jill Ellis to oversee the program with the goal taking the team through CONCACAF qualifying for the 2012 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup to be held in Azerbaijan from Sept. 22 through Oct 13.

Brittany currently plays for the U17 SYA/FCV Hotspur
